Paul Milward's "AB4PM/P" (Portable) Ham Radio Demonstration Schedule and Locations

The operation goes on until either the band propagation or battery life hits ZERO! Normally they hang in there for two to three hours or the fun meter pegs out which ever comes first.

If you should desire to communicate with them at the site of the day, call AB4PM or K44TUG on 147.150 MHz, +600 KHz offset, no tone.  If K4BV/R is not available or reachable try W2DU/R at 147.240 MHz, +600 KHz offset, tone 123.0 Hz.

Hi Gang,

Well the past month or so all the portable Ops have been south of ISB so this week we will trek back to the north

 We will set up at Central Park North in Ormond Beach. The park is located on Hammock Lane which runs parallel to Division Ave, From Nova Rd turn east onto Division Ave. then left (north) at Old Kings Highway. If you come from US1/Ridgewood turn west onto Division Ave and then turn right (north) on Old Kings Hiway. From Old Kings Highway turn right (east) onto Hammock Lane and the Park will be on your left in about 200 yards.

 We will set up about 1030-1100 and operate until 1330-1400. Bring food and water, shade is supplied HI. Oh bring a radio and antenna, join the fun. Jose maybe you can bring the 817 and NEW modem. I hope to see you all there.

AAR for 25 June 2008

This past Wednesday we visited Bill, KI4AAN and set up a Station at The Health Care Center. Unfortunately Bill was unable to participate due to health reasons. I am sure that he would appreciate a visit from any fellow Ham. We will return and set up for Bill at a later date.

Hello to all,

Last Wednesday's field op was at Ormond Central Park North. Daryl Peterson ab8gu and Phil Carter and I had a lot of eyeball QSOs and I actually made 3 contacts on 20 meters which was roaring early
on. One to Delaware, Michigan UP and Austria to a special event station that suddenly went dead and so did the band a short time later.

Later on Bob Arnold W4RAA showed up and we chatted for a spell then broke down the equipment.

This Wednesday we will be at Veterans Park in South Daytona, also known as Wendy's Park which was a favorite of our SK friend Cliff Fraser, gee I miss him. Hope to see you all there at 11:00 Am on Wednesday.

Hi Folks

Last week we had 12 Ops show up at Sanchez Park. Conditions were not that great but we had some great cross table QSOs.

Join us this Wednesday, 7 May at 1100 local for another portable OP. We will be at Bethune Point Park in Daytona Beach at the east end of Belleview Avenue.

Turn off South Beach St at Tug's place (K4TUG lives at corner of Beach & Belleview).

We will monitor 147.150 for talk in and hope to see you there.

Hi Gang

 Last Wednesday a sizable group showed up at Reed Canal Park. We set up 2 stations, one on CW and one on phone. We did not exactly burn up the airwaves. The conditions were typical of our most recent outings. Lets hope things pick up this week.

 On Wednesday, the 30th, we will return to Sanchez Park in Ormond Beach. I plan to bring an 80m doublet that plays well on most Ham bands and I will also bring my Buddipole. There are lots of trees available so bring your wire antennas and lets hang em high. I’ll bring my world famous “slinky” antenna and see if we can duplicate last weeks efforts and complete a call or two to the west coast.

 Place = Sanchez Park

Date = 4/30

Time = 11:00am (EDT)

Talk-in = 147.150

Hi gang,

 We had a wonderful portable OP last Wednesday at Central Park in Ormond Beach. There were at least 12 of us there. Can we exceed that number this week?

Reed Canal Park in South Daytona is next up. We will gather at the pavilion on the East side of the park. Enter from Reed Canal Rd. The official start time on Wednesday, April 23 is 11AM. However, some of us usually arrive early to set up the station antennas.

Bring your radio, bring your lunch, bring yourself and enjoy a pleasant day with your friends here in Daytona and, via the magic of radio, around the world.
