File Transfer Protocol (FTP) directory

George Silver, WD4VDP, came to me with the suggestion, "can we make a FTP account? I went to Arthur Byrnes, KA4WDK, our host and asked if the site would support it since I really did not know.  I thought it would but we all know "thinking will get you in big trouble at times."

2009.12.18 NOTICE TO ALL FTP USERS  - - - - On this date I  copied all the files on to a CD-ROM and deleted them as we were having space problems and trying to eliminate the problem.  If you need a file call me and I will upload it for you.  Thank you in advance webmaster.

We now have a FTP directory where you can up or download your photographs to share with other club members and the webmaster.  To use the FTP capability you need the following information:

    • FTP Username: photo@dbara.org
    • Password: e-mail the webmaster for it.
    • FTP Server: ftp.dbara.org
    • FTP Server Port: 21
    • Quota: unlimited MB

This is a good example of how your FTP software program connect information should look. I use a program named Wise FTP but there are many good ones on the internet today.  Good ones are Wise, WS_FTP and Cute FTP to name just a few of them.

Use it and enjoy it.
