The course is FREE. Students will need to obtain the textbook: ARRL's General Class License Manual. You can purchase the book directly from the ARRL online or by phone. The price is $24.95 plus shipping. Visit http://www.arrl.org/catalog or call the ARRL Publication Sales Line at 1-888-277-5289.

The link to the ARRL's Amateur General Class License Manual detail and ordering web page is: http://www.arrl.org/catalog/?item=9965#top

There may be manuals available for sale at the first session of the class. However, it will serve you well to order the book in advance and begin reading as soon as you can.

The class will be fast paced. Students will be expected to prepare for each class by reading one or more chapters in the textbook in advance of each class. The class is not intended to be a thorough treatment on practical communications electronics (that simply can't be done in 18 contact hours.)

The class will focus on the theory covered by the test including methods of solving the math questions. Class time will also be devoted to helping students to understand those topics with which they are having difficulty. No practical demonstrations are planned for this class.

Students are encouraged to make use of the HBC Student Yahoo Group electronic mail program to ask questions, keep up to date on potential date changes and use it as a learning aid or tool. Also all home work assignments and material are available at www.hambonecollege.com

There is room for 20 students so if you want to take this class, please send an email today to bill46@bellsouth.net  or call John Locicero K4TUG (ex KD5IBY) at the DBARA Hot Line at (Daytona Beach) (386) 226-4618.  Once your seat has been reserved, please obtain the current textbook and start reading ahead prior to the first class.
