This project for the Daytona Beach Amateur Radio Association (DBARA) got sort of a weird start and has since that day started to take on a life of its own. It all got started with a combination of occurrences. One was the DBARA March meeting theme for the month which was "packet radio." Another was a posting of the monthly American Radio Relay League's (ARRL) monthly Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) bulletin. That got Frank N. Haas, KB4T, a.k.a. DBARA Treasurer got his ever verbal brain waves cranked up and generated the HF 20/40 mile challenge to all the active mobile/portable VHF/HF types. The following links are the results of their efforts, positive and negative.
