Introduction of Members and Guests

Guests present:

Bill from Flagler

Allen from Port Orange

Announcements:

  1. DBARA has purchased a projector which will be used tonight.
  2. A 2 day Course on Emergency Communication/Traffic Handling will be offered by DBARA at the Port Orange Library on May 1st and 2nd.  Please see John LoCicero K4TUG for details and to sign up for the class. 
  3. The Business part of meeting will be shortened to allow time for two program

Program 1: Leah Bowen AJ4MR et al.  Subject:  Bunny (Fox) Hunting

Break for coffee and donuts and 50/50 drawing

Program 2: Ed Cote KA1EHR.  Subject:  Dragsters in the Volusia County After School Program

New Members:

Shelley Radford KJ4RKZ Deland   New Ham Program

           Motion to accept all new member brought by Tom “Woolfie” Billelo K9WLF 2nd Joe Sanders K2SAN Passed by a unanimous vote 

9:30  Motion to close the meeting brought by David Jollymore WA1RWO   2nd Joe Sanders K2SAN Vote was unanimous.  Meeting closed

Announcements:

  1. Please see the Treasurer, Frank Reda AJ4LE, to pay 2010 dues
  2. Allen Bestwick W1PX:  Donation of older keys is still needed at the Lighthouse for the Wireless at the Lighthouse Home School Project

3.   Embry Riddle Observatory will be open to the public Friday 2/19/2010 at 8 to 11 PM

  1. The new DEC is Mike Lee WB6RTH
  2. The Board will be looking into a new source for Name Badges

Program: Bill Schwartz WS1C, Equipment Analysis

Old Business:

        1. Barbara Vola KJ4MOA gave a recap of the Samsula Radio Panthers Club. 

New Business:  

        1.  Allen Bestwick will be bringing the Keeper in the Classroom project to area Schools.  Samsula will be the first test school.  The PTA is sponsoring the program by providing material for code oscillator kits.  Help is needed to assemble the kits

 2.   Jason Cote WX4WTF has put together a DBARA Facebook page  DBARA, and  a Twitter page at DBARA_DB4V

  3.   New Members:
